I have always loved the sound of this tiny little instrument. I can't understand why such a beautiful sounding instrument remains relatively obscure. You can hear a mandolin in popular music occasionally but it is a staple in bluegrass and celtic music. I teach beginner to intermediate mandolin.

If you would like to hear the mandolin used in some popular rock music check out Led Zeppelin's "Going to California" or "The Battle of Evermore" or Rod Stewarts "Maggie Mae." It is also being used quite often in todays country music.
